DIE in journalism unhealthy for society

 Diversity Inclusion and Equity is a fad that unfortunately has gained strength the last five to ten years . Basically it means that we need to include and listen more to the underrepresented groups of Americans who are largely either female , non European based people and ESPECIALLY the LGBTQ+ community.

However when they report news they do so from a very narrow angle and perspective. I wouldn’t to listen to their views on the military and foreign policy. I also don’t want them running inner cities as crime has gone up in most of these cities.

Therefore tv stations such as WCBS New York channel 2 who employ tons of these women who are more or less diversity hires to look good, have less credibility and seriousness than they did ten to fifteen years ago.

Kristine Johnson has no business being a top TV anchor given how shallow she is. Same with Ali Bauman  and Jessica Moore.

If I ran journalism school I would require reading of Bill Buckley and other conservative voices and thinkers. It would make for a more well rounded journalist and society.

First amendement and freedom of the press disappearing

 Based on an interview that Tucker Carlson did with Dave Benner a libertarian from. Minnesota I am less optimistic about our direction than before. He says that freedom of the press is disappearing and uses some statistics to back it up. For example our freedom index score is 71, about that of Gambia and Tonga, Norway is number one with a 91score.

One party state or monolithic views bad for organizations and Society

 In my humble view a one party state or city government with no dissenting views is bad for society as it doesn’t allow for criticism or improvement of processes. This is probably the biggest problem with contemporary America as well as many other Western countries like Canada United Kingdom 🇬🇧 Australia and France. How can people take their state and federal governments seriously when they suppress all dissenting points of view? 

Some big ideas for 2024

 There’s a blog that I read called The American Thinker. They have some interesting writers and points of view. I saw a post the other day called Tem big ideas to help Republicans win in 2024. 

A couple of these ideas are very worthwhile. One is Mandate growth requiring that as a matter of law GDP should be hitting a minimum of 4 percent. This is an easy way to measure how well the economy and president and federal government are doing.

Another one is energy independence. To rely on the Arab nations and Venezuela 🇻🇪 for oil when we have oil wells and fracking available is crazy and one of the reason that prices or inflation is so HIGH.

Sunseting commissions that serve no purpose is another favorite of mine.

McCaskey -Halas family not fit to own a major sports team

After another disappointing Bears season in Chicago it’s time Chicago sports fans faced a very very uncomfortable truth.

The McCaskey-Halas family is not fit or equipped to own a major sports team today . If they do they will never win a championship because they are stuck in their old ways and won’t adapt to the new game and  the importance that the quarterback plays today .

Since Mike Ditka was fired after the 1992 season the Bears have won 10 games in a season six times , four by Lovie Smith. That’s pitiful.
