It seems to me that in the last few years since the shuls and other Jewish places of study or worship re opened after Covid restrictions that the Modern Orthodox shul or synagogue isn’t nearly as full as it used to be.
There are a variety of reasons for this phenomenon. One is that the older time members who were stalwarts or die hard or loyal members have gotten older moved away or passed on.
Another is that other members have moved to the “right “ and want to go to a bais medrash or yeshiva style davening with less singing and formality than the Modern orthodox shul has.
Maybe this is for the best but it is alarming to me at some level to see fewer of my types in the shul compared with five to ten years ago.
