I see a lot of younger religious people who know a lot of rules and technical aspects of Jewish law but I think that they lack certain refinement or awareness of the outside world . To me it seems like they are like IT information technology people. They can tell you how to program your computer or fix certain things but they aren’t the type of people one would want to hang around for many hours on end. The reason is that they would bore one to tears … too one dimensional.

Happy birthday America
I’m a little late for this but a happy 250th anniversary to the United States πΊπΈ of America. Despite the issue and people tying to remake it it’s still a wonderful country for Americans and Jews.
My wife and I saw Hamilton recently as well as saw one of the older ships called the pride of Baltimore. It was good to see and heartwarming that many people want to see American ships π³️.

Modern orthodox shuls emptier? Problem?
It seems to me that in the last few years since the shuls and other Jewish places of study or worship re opened after Covid restrictions that the Modern Orthodox shul or synagogue isn’t nearly as full as it used to be.
There are a variety of reasons for this phenomenon. One is that the older time members who were stalwarts or die hard or loyal members have gotten older moved away or passed on.
Another is that other members have moved to the “right “ and want to go to a bais medrash or yeshiva style davening with less singing and formality than the Modern orthodox shul has.
Maybe this is for the best but it is alarming to me at some level to see fewer of my types in the shul compared with five to ten years ago.

Male voters in New York and New Jersey wimps
The male voters in New York and New Jersey who voted for Kathy Hochul and Mikie Michelle Sherrill for governor of those states are quite feminine and weak. It is unbelievable that men would vote for these two candidates whose main qualification is their gender and ability to check boxes in the identity politics game.
