Bold move needed

While the Seattle Mariners had a good season and playoff run they still fell short of the World Series.

Therefore a bold move is needed and I believe that the owner should fire President of Baseball Operations Jerry DiPoto. He has been here the longest and consequently in order to have up the team and realize that they are not a serious team until they make the World Series someone needs to pay the price.

It won’t happen because Seattle executives don’t think like this but that is why I would do.

Baseball labor war impending

Based on the fact that many teams owners are cheapskates and use a lot of younger players I believe that there will be a long strike after the season next year .

What the sport needs is a floor and ceiling for each team so that teams are forced to spend a certain amount of money otherwise you have have nots who have good players who then are biding time until they go to a rich team like the dodgers Yankees and Red Sox.

Old boys club, why hockey and baseball lag behind football

Having noticed who gets hired in the two sports of baseball and hockey I can conclude that baseball and hockey are quite backwards and guilty of the old boys network in terms of hiring practices.

You do not find many assistant coaches getting promoted to head coach or manager in baseball.

They tend to hire the tried and true candidates.

The New York Rangers fired Peter Laviolette recently after two years, one good regular season but ending short of the finals and missing the playoffs the next year. So who do they replace him with? Mike Sullivan of Pittsburgh who was fired recently as well. Yea Sullivan won two cups with Pittsburgh but that was close to a decade ago. But for the Rangers it will work.

It’s a major turnoff for me. Bring in new blood and fresh ideas.

Now you know why Bill Walsh is so revered in NFL circles. He was blocked from getting a job after Paul Brown passed on him to succeed him years ago. He hired minority assistants who would eventually become head coaches.

New era in America , is it reflected in local government and journalism

I am not sure if the people who work for the local television stations and state government are aware of this but in November we elected Donald Trump as president as well elected majorities in the US House and Senate. Yet the imbeciles at ABC, CBS etc skew their reporting in such a way as to think that Kamala won the presidency and I’ll of her people would be elected Secretary of State , Defense etc

We need balance in journalism and an acknowledgment of reality and the imbeciles locally are unaware of this as well as their executives who run the stations.

What should journalism be

Every so often I think about what should the purpose or point of journalism be?

It should be more than reporting what happened and hiring diversity hires to fill quotas and appease left wing activists . That is what most of your local news stations and papers do.

No wonder people tuned them out and went to Fox News 🗞️ and Newsmax among other outlets.

They attempt real journalism. Even that new station News Nation that Bill O’Reilly and Chris Cuomo are on is a better source than the legacy media.

Women in sports not such a good thing

I don’t understand why we have to have women reporters coaches executives etc for men’s sports. Last night the Seattle kraken an nhl team made history when their assistant coach was the first prominent assistant coach for one of the four major sports.  It makes sports more sissified and just like another office space.

What the Seattle Mariners owe their fans after a disaster of a collapse conference

After this pathetic display of collapsing down August and September this is what should happen.

Tuesday afternoon or late Tuesday morning John Stanton and one or two other executives need to call a press conference and announce the firing of Jerry DiPoto and Justin Hollander as POBo and GM of the Seattle mariners and that a search  for a new POBO (president of baseball operations ) as well as General Manager will be begin immediately.

Why Tuesday and not Monday ? Because this Monday the Seattle Seahawks are playing the Detroit lions on Monday night football and as such the sporting press attention will be focused on the Seahawks as it should.

This press conference needs to be done when there is no distractions from the Seahawks game.

This failure is on DiPoto and the owners and NO ONE ELSE

Otherwise they are wasting the sporting fans time money and attention.
